The Unique Mitzvot of Purim 

Purim has four unique mitzvot, which place an emphasis on sharing the joy with others as well: 

1. Megillah reading - hearing the story of the holiday 

2. Partaking in a festive meal to celebrate the miracles of the day 

3. Mishloach Manot - sending gifts of food to friends 

4. Matanot L'evyonim - giving extra charity to the needy on Purim day 

And of course, we have the customs of dressing up in costume and enjoying some hamantashen! 

If you would like to send charity which will be distributed to those in need on Purim day, you may do so here. 

100% of funds received here will be distributed to the needy on Purim day.
